Abstract

The present studies were undertaken in order to quantify mineral nutrient concentration variability in the olive leaf sample from the point of view of choise of sample. Concerning choice of sample a study on nitrogen concentration variability in the olive leaf sample was carried out. Leaf samples from five different trees, from different portions of the canopy and different leaf age were analyzed. The results indicated that within the same tree increased concentration of nitrogen (N%) was found in the leaves from south and south east side of the canopy (1.81-1.84), from higher portion of the canopy (1.91), and younger leaves (1.98). While lower concentration of nitrogen was found in the leaves form north side (1.74), lower portion of the canopy (1.66) and in the older leaves (1.62).
