About

Agriculturae Conspectus Scientificus is an international, peer-reviewed, fully open-access journal (without APC charges) published four times per year. Agric. Conspec. Sci. is the oldest agricultural journal in Croatia, established in 1887 as ‘Viestnik za gospodarstvo i šumarstvo’.

Aims & Scope

Agriculturae Conspectus Scientificus publishes original articles dedicated to advancing sustainable agriculture and natural resource management, encompassing both plant and animal sciences. The journal prioritizes research that supports resilient and resource-efficient agricultural systems aimed at soil and water conservation, the enhancement of biodiversity, and long-term ecosystem sustainability in the era of climate change.

The scope includes sustainable plant and livestock production, animal & plant breeding, genetics, agroecology, soil–plant–animal interactions, integrated land and water management, conservation practices, ecosystem services, aquatic sciences, and the responsible utilization of renewable natural resources. Emphasis is placed on science-based strategies that mitigate environmental impacts, promote climate adaptation, and strengthen agroecosystem resilience.

An interdisciplinary approach that integrates plant and animal sciences with environmental management, ecology, and resource governance is encouraged. Manuscripts addressing other aspects of sustainable agricultural development and natural resource stewardship are welcome.

Types of contribution

We offer a range of manuscript categories to accommodate diverse forms of scholarly communication and to provide authors with flexibility in presenting their research.

The most common types of contributions include:

Original Research Articles present the results of original scientific investigations. Submissions must report unpublished work that has not been previously published elsewhere, except in preliminary form (e.g., abstracts or conference proceedings).

Review Articles provide comprehensive and critical syntheses of topics within the journal’s scope that are of significant and current scientific interest.

Short Communications present concise yet complete reports of limited or narrowly focused studies. These manuscripts should not be intended for subsequent full-length publication. Short Communications must be fully documented, including appropriate references and a clear description of the materials and methods employed, and should meet the same standards of scientific rigor as full research articles.
