Editorial Note from the Outgoing Editor-in-Chief

2025, 90 (4)  p. 255-256

Abstract

As I edit my final issue of Agriculturae Conspectus Scientificus (ACS) in this mandate, I reflect with gratitude on the journal’s progress and look ahead with confidence. Over the past five years, the Editorial Board has worked to strengthen ACS’s international visibility and scientific quality while preserving its tradition dating back to 1887. This effort has delivered measurable gains: the journal’s SJR rose from 0.166 (Q4) in 2020 to 0.205 (Q3) in 2024, and the two-year citation average increased from 0.55 to 0.83. Recent data show 118 citations over three years for 121 citable papers, indicating growing global use of ACS publications.Beyond metrics, ACS maintained uninterrupted publication in print and online despite the COVID-19 pandemic and major earthquakes affecting Zagreb. We reinforced rigorous peer review, strengthened editorial standards, and promoted research ethics in line with COPE principles and Croatian and EU requirements. The journal also broadened its international character through more diverse submissions, editors, and reviewers, and continued its open-access model to maximise dissemination and impact. With my term ending in 2025, I thank authors, reviewers, board members, and readers for their contributions. I warmly welcome the incoming editors, Prof. dr. sc. Marina Piria and Prof. dr. sc. Boris Duralija, and invite the community to continue supporting ACS by submitting, reviewing, citing, and sharing its work.
