Summary

In the Kalnik piedmont region parallel researches of cock ' s head Onobrychis viciifolia Scop.) site soil properties and lawn botanical composition were performed on 2 locations in mountain association Bromo-Plantaginetum mediae and 6 locations in lowland meadow in association Arrhenatheretum elatioris. Some physical and chemical soil properties on each location were determined at the soil depths 0-15, 18-22 and 25-30 cm with usual methods. Botanical composition of lawn was determined by the method Klapp et al. modified by Šoštarić-Pisačić and Kovačević. It was determined that Cock's head sites in association Arrhenatheretum elatioris give significantly higher hay yields than Cock's head sites in association Bromo-Plantaginetum mediae. Hay quality in both associations is good. On the researched locations soil property differences among locations were determined. Correlations and regressions between single soil properties and Cock's head percentage in botanical composition of meadow associations were determined, with the help of computer. From correlations and regressions it is visible that with increase of soil supply with physiological active phosphorus, with decrease of clay soil particles < 0.002 mm and with increase of soil particles 2 - 0.2 mm increases percentage of Cock's head (Onobrychis viciifolia) in botanical composition of meadow associations. On the same sites correlation between soil reaction (pH) and soil supply with physiological active magnesium (Mg), and manganese (Mn) respectively were determined. Plain Cock's head (Onobrychis viciifolia Scop.) sites in associations Arrhenatheretum elatioris on the alluvial carbonate ground can provide convenient conditions for all arable plants in particular for clovers-grasses mixtures based on Cock s head (Onobrychis sativa) or alfalfa (Medicago sativa).
